Backups Automation

Automated backups reduce recovery time and help maintain business continuity.

What to automate​

  • Daily full or incremental backups
  • Retention policy (multiple restore points)
  • Optional offsite copy for critical websites
  • Dynamic business website: daily backup
  • High-change ecommerce/content site: at least daily plus pre-release backup
  • Retention: keep enough history to recover from delayed issues

Setup checklist​

  1. Open backup settings in Hosting Panel.
  2. Define schedule and scope (files, database, or full).
  3. Set retention window.
  4. Save and verify scheduled runs appear.
  5. Perform a periodic restore test.

Operational rules​

  • Keep at least one known-good restore point before major updates.
  • Test recovery path, not just backup creation.
  • Document who is responsible for monitoring failed backup jobs.
